I went to china for a tour holiday and travel within Guizhou and Hunan, mainly visiting the scenic hills and waterfalls of Guizhou and going to Zhangjiajie in Hunan.
Here are the highlights of day 6: Hunan province attractions: JingYenGu ancient town, YenJiaJie (part of JiangJiaJie)
We left AngShun and made our way to JingYenGu ancient town. I was a disappointed because according to the itinerary, we are supposed to visit FengHuang ancient town again in the morning.
May be the next time I should travel by a smaller tour operator which will be hopefully less chaotic because they have less people travelling as tour group.
Here are some shots taken along the way.
This one is really stylish pedestrian overhead bridge. Really nice and colourful.

You will only notice the fast growth when you see rows of mobile cranes parked.

And here is our toilet break, at petrol station. After all guys are done, the ladies use the gents too.

A lucky fruit seller stopped at the petrol station and we bought about half of his fruits.

Teapot/cup factory? I am glad we did not stop.

We entered a few tunnels, this is one of them

And another

We spent some time at JingYenGu ancient town. Again I am annoyed because from the bus I realize that if I go down on the other side of the river, I could take some pictures of the ancient town by the river with old wooden planks etc and the morning sun will make a good contrast.
Unfortunately it was not meant to be. We we dropped on the opposite side of the river where the ancient town is located.
Here are some shot from the ancient town.
Bee wax, and apparently, preserved bees too.

Salted fish and shrimps.

My mum pretending to sell the preserved pork bellies

One uncle from our tour model for this wine shop.

And I make my mum do the same too.

Ginger Sweet Candies being made, fresh from the candy shop.

Brass and non-brass pipes. Opium pipes probably.

Portable baby crib?

Some tourist screams "Tofu mien" and run to this shop. I guess it is popular.

Old man outside a VCD/DVD/CD shop.

Red HOT dried chili. Yum yum.

Then it was time to go for lunch. After lunch we went to YenJiaJie.

The attraction is located in a valley surrounded by magnificent towering cliffs.

Yeah I cheated. This one use gradual blue tint filter. Otherwise the sky will looked flat and overexposed.

There is a river near the path into the forest.

And here are some stuff you can buy if you don't mind it being sold at roadside:
Some things that looked like wild gingseng

and whatever these thing is... which I have no idea if it is some kind of edible goods or ornaments.

And for RMB 2 (yep that is right, SG 40 cents) you can see this water salamander, which is pretty large. It is more than 1 meter long, and supposedly only live in caves. However in the name of conservation, this guy need to earn some tourist money. At least he is kept in clean water.

Outside, there were plenty of eateries and there are many Korean and Japanese tourist.

That is all for day 6. We stayed overnight at JiangJiaJie and went out to nearby shops at night.
